Bill and Danielle Gottfried established The Kidney Research Institute of Texas to help accelerate investment in kidney disease prevention, research, and technology innovation to improve the lives of kidney patients. This Institute was established in memory of family members who have died from kidney disease, including Bill's Father, Henry William Gottfried, Jr., CDR, U.S. Navy.
Our energy experience began when Bill Gottfried served as a U.S. Naval Officer in the Middle East managing petroleum shipments in Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Iran, and Yemen. Following the collapse of the Soviet Union, Bill joined the first U.S Department of Energy Trade Missions sent to Russia and Central Asia where he recruited management teams and raised capital for joint ventures in Russia, Kazakhstan, and Azerbaijan.
Earlier in his career, Bill Gottfried managed petroleum allocation programs at the Federal Energy Office during three Presidential Administrations and managed strategic planning assignments for energy clients in the U.S., Europe, and the Middle East with Booz, Allen & Hamilton, Inc.
We recruited management teams for several of the first agricultural biotechnology companies and we organized the first U.S.-Kazakhstan agriculture joint venture following the collapse of the Soviet Union with support from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in London.
Our firm developed the first hyperspectral imaging system for the energy industry that was designed as one of the first commercial payloads for the International Space Station. We have recruited senior executives for commercial space technology companies in the U.S. and Europe, including CEO's for two of the first commercial space companies established in the U.S.

Bill Gottfried earned a B.S. in Petroleum Marketing from The University of Tulsa, Tulsa, Oklahoma, a M.B.A. in International Business from The George Washington University, Washington, D.C., and he has attended Executive Ed. at Harvard Business School. Bill was Commissioned a U.S. Naval Officer at Officer Candidate School, Newport, R.I. and he successfully completed Navy Supply Corps School, Athens, Georgia. He is an Eagle Scout and a Knight of The Silver Circle Member of The Army and Navy Club in Washington, D.C.
